Organised by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), “Designed by HK” is a series of sharing sessions, as well as the lead-in of Business of Design Week (BODW) 2014 featuring the Hong Kong creative talents.
In the digital era, new media has grown into an integral part of life. The development of new media in art has been so remarkable that it has created a new form of distinctive language for visual arts, providing artists new capacities to explore in their creative development. Promoting designs by local talent, the finale Episode of “BODW2014: Designed by HK” Sharing Session will be held on 29th November (Sat) with the theme “Design for New Media”. Chris Cheung, is a rising star of mixed-media design, presenting art with music, image, technology and science, he is highly devoted to audiovisual and interactive design. Chris will bring to audiences new insight into multimedia art and its value.
eMotion Lab leads the trend of visual dynamism in this digitally driven era specializing in providing services in the production and design of motion image, animation and video production used toward the showcase on digital platforms. Mandy Tsang of eMotion Lab will share with us how to infuse their passion with creativity in the making of digital motion images into a new art form and to bring out enthroning messages that will captivate the hearts. In this episode, both Chrisand Mandy are going to present their interactive works and discuss with audiences the concept of their designs and the development of new media art.
About “Designed by Hong Kong” Sharing Session Series
From this July to late November that before BODW, HKDC will organise a series of “Designed by Hong Kong” sharing session every month, the designers will be invited to speak for the topics around design of communication, fashion, multi-media, product, etc., this event aims at providing an interactive platform for the promising local designers/brands to share with the audience their design process and success stories, promoting design excellence, championing strategic and wider use of design for creating business value and community benefits; and bringing Hong Kong to an important role in the world through design and innovation.
